Our Therapists

Sandra Woolsey MA, LPCC, LAMFT is an adoption competent therapist. She is licensed as a Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT) with over 20 years of counseling experience and has worked extensively with adolescents and families.

Areas of specialty include: pre- and post-adoption and attachment work, complex trauma, EMDR, dissociation, adolescent issues, young adults, parenting issues and family therapy.

Sandra has worked in residential treatment, outpatient therapy, in-home and school-based settings. Sandra completed her master's degree at St. Mary's University in Minneapolis in Counseling and Psychological Services in 2001 and completed post graduate certification in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Mary's University in 2010.  She completed the Permanency and Adoption Competency Certificate program (PACC) in 2013 specializing in clinical adoption issues from the Center for Advanced Studies in Child Welfare at the University of Minnesota. She graduated from the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, MN with an undergraduate degree in Psychology.

Sandra has completed extensive professional training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), adoption and attachment, TFCBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). She also has received specific training in DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy).

Sandra is a member of:  Minnesota Women in Psychology (MWP) and EMDRIA (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association).

 

Katherine Carlson is Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with fifteen years of experience providing mental health care services to children and families. Katherine graduated with her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the College of St. Catherine and University of St. Thomas in 2007. Katherine has worked in outpatient settings, school based, home based, and day treatment.

Katherine has specialized training including Trauma Focused- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and in adoption competency completing training through the National Adoption Competency Mental Health Training Initiative. Katherine specializes in working with school age youth and their families in the areas of trauma, anxiety, depression, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and social difficulties. Katherine is a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
